Arrive Arusha

Stay: Arusha Coffee Lodge

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Transfer to your hotel in Arusha for an orientation briefing and welcome dinner.

Arusha to Tarangire

Stay: Tarangire Treetops Lodge

Drive south to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2.5 hours). Enter the park for afternoon game drives along the Tarangire River, watching enormous elephant herds against the backdrop of iconic baobab trees. Sundowner in the bush.

Full Day Tarangire

A full day in Tarangire's varied ecosystems — oxbow swamps, wooded ridges, and open plains. Morning drive following the elephants; afternoon exploring for lion and leopard in the acacia woodland. Night game drive to the swamp to watch the waterhole come alive.

Tarangire to Ngorongoro Crater Rim

Morning drive in Tarangire before driving to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at your crater-rim lodge with spectacular views 600m down into the caldera. Sundowners as the crater fills with shadow.

Ngorongoro Crater Descent

Early morning descent into the crater floor for a full day of game driving. The crater shelters all of the Big Five, including one of the most easily seen black rhino populations in Africa. Picnic lunch inside the crater before ascending in the late afternoon.

Ngorongoro to Central Serengeti

Drive from the crater rim through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area — a chance to see Maasai communities, wildlife, and dramatic Rift Valley scenery — into the Serengeti. Afternoon game drive in the iconic Seronera Valley.

Full Day Central Serengeti

Full day exploring the central Serengeti. The Seronera Valley is one of the best places in Africa to find leopard. Morning drive following lion prides; afternoon tracking cheetah and wild dog on the open plains. Optional hot air balloon flight at dawn (additional cost).

Move to Northern Serengeti

Stay: Serengeti Bushtops Camp

Drive north through the Serengeti to the Lamai or Kogatende area — the heart of the river crossing zone. Afternoon game drive searching for the herds moving towards the Mara River.

Northern Serengeti — Full Day

Stay: Serengeti Bushtops Camp

A full day positioned at the Mara River crossing points. Witness wildebeest and zebra massing on the river's edge, then — in one of nature's most dramatic moments — launching themselves into the crocodile-filled waters. Bush picnic lunch. Sundowner drive in the late afternoon.

Northern Serengeti — Departure

Sunrise game drive along the Mara River before your bush flight from the airstrip back to Arusha. Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
