Park

Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda's largest protected area, encompassing 3,840 km² of savannah, forest, and wetland along the Victoria Nile. The park's centrepiece is the awe-inspiring Murchison Falls — where the entire force of the Nile squeezes through a 7-metre-wide gorge and plunges 43 metres into a seething pool below.

Wildlife is exceptional: large elephant herds, Rothschild's giraffe, buffalo, hippo, Nile crocodile, and lions. The Nile boat cruise to the base of the falls — past huge pods of hippo and basking crocodile — is one of Uganda's finest experiences.
